Impact Day 2026: Building More Than Beds

Legacy Isn’t Just a Name…

Rain was in the forecast. The skies were gray. For a moment, it looked like the day might not go as planned.

Instead, people showed up.

On May 23, Legacy Construction & Development joined community partners for Impact Day, an initiative focused on supporting children who have survived human trafficking through the creation of safe housing and essential furnishings. By the end of the day, six beds had been built, each one representing far more than lumber, screws, and paint.

They represented Safety. Stability. A place to rest.

The effort brought together volunteers from across the community, including Legacy employees, family members, and friends who gave up part of their day to make a difference for children they may never meet.

We are grateful to Mike’s Hardware for donating the lumber that made the project possible, Sherwin-Williams for providing supplies, and Church of the King for coordinating volunteers and helping bring the day together. Their generosity turned an idea into something tangible and lasting.

At Legacy, construction is what we do. Building is in our nature. It’s a reflection of the values that guide our work every day at Legacy Construction & Development.

Sometimes it’s hope.

As the rain passed and the work continued, volunteers assembled, painted, and prepared six beds that will soon become part of a safe place for children beginning a new chapter. What started as a volunteer event became a powerful reminder of what can happen when people choose to show up for one another.

While Legacy is know for construction, days like Impact Day remind us that the most important things we build aren’t always structures. Our video from the day shared a simple message:

“Legacy isn’t just a name. It’s what you leave behind.”

That idea has always guided our company and the way we approach every project, partnership, and community initiative.

To our crew, our friends, and every volunteer who showed up despite the weather, thank you. The character of a company is defined by the people behind it, and we’re fortunate to have a team that consistently shows up when it matters most.

You gave up your day to give kids a better night.

That’s a real legacy.
